22. - 23. September: What is Buddhism? What is meditation? How can we give a deeper meaning to life?

Bodhi Path Retreat with Trinley Rinpoche

We are very happy that Trinley Rinpoche, one of the important teachers of our lineage, and one of the few Rinpoches with a western background, will visit Bordo again. His vast knowledge, combined with deep compassion, makes him an outstanding teacher who can deepen our insight into true practice and clear our view on the essence of Buddhism. In his youth Trinley Rinpoche received a traditional Tibetan education and later studied at the Sorbonne. He is in contact with scholars of Tibetan Buddhism and of western neuroscience. His explanations are fundamental and equally precious for advanced practitioners as for beginners. www.karmatrinlay.com

We will communicate the exact date as soon as it is known.

Course language: English, with italian/German translation.

22 September - 5 October: Meditation and Action

with Tengye and the Bordo Team

The perfect weeks for all those who want to combine Dharma practice and work in everyday life. We will practice together and prepare the village for the coming winter. Course language: German, English and Italian.

5 - 9 October: Open Heart, Free Mind - Deepening the Practice of Lojong

with Lama Irene (Dorje Drölma)

We are used to seeing ourselves as the centre of the world. Whatever we encounter we evaluate whether it satisfies us and fulfills our wishes or not. In the practice of lojong and in tonglen meditation we confront these deep and confining habits. We open towards ourselves and others with kind attention, knowing that we all crave happiness and joy. Our aim is to change our self-centeredness into an attitude encompassing all beings, in which we appreciate all in the same way.

In Bordo you will find many possibilities to deepen the theme during the whole day. The energy and quietness of the village brings us naturally back to ourselves, the starting point for all work, and allows for common activities and stimulating exchange.

Course language: German

Unless otherwise stated all courses are suitable for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

Costs: Participation in the costs of organisation and an offering for the dharma teachers. Your generosity allows them to continue teaching the dharma in the future.

Offerings for lodging and food should cover expenses and allow the maintainance and operation of Bordo. Please contact us for further information.

Individual practice and Single retreats

Bordo is very well suited for individual practice. In nicely furnished rooms, one's personal practice can be deepened. It is always possible to take part in regular group meditations and rituals that take place at the centre. Depending on the activities ongoing at any specific time, it is possible to cook for yourself in the Dharma House kitchen or to share meals with groups attending courses in the communal dining room.

A regular daily routine is mandatory for personal practice. It is important to be guided by a Lama or a Dharma teacher in order to direct the structure of your retreat in advance, and to communicate this with your inscription.
