The Perfection of Wisdom – Introduction to the Heart of Buddhism

Karma Trinlay Rinpoche is again visiting Bordo and will give us explanations of the Heart Sutra, the most concise version of the Prajnaparamita, the Perfection of Wisdom. The text is essential for all traditions and schools of Mahayana Buddhism and is regularly recited.

Friday afternoon will be consecrated to the historical background and time in which the essential texts of the Perfection of Wisdom came to light and will also introduce us to the great philosopher Nagarjuna, one of the main founders of Mahayana Buddhism.

On Saturday and Sunday Trinlay Rinpoche will deepen with us the understanding of this important text and give us an introduction to and a glimpse of what ‘reality’ means in Buddhism. It will touch notions like emptiness, interdependence and impermanence and will incite us to question the view of ourselves and the way we see the world surrounding us.

An excellent occasion to receive an introduction to essential Buddhist notions by a highly experienced teacher. Trinlay Rinpoche has a traditional background and intense education in Tibetan Buddhism as well as a western academic education at the Sorbonne F in western philosophy.
