Covid-19 Information

Covid-19 has also an impact on the activities in Bordo

In Bordo, too, the current sanitary situation is leading to adjustments. You will be informed periodically via our newsletter (subscribe) and on Facebook.

In order to be able to carry out the programme in 2021, the help of all residents and visitors is required.
In order to be able to comply with the hygiene rules, we will receive fewer members than in previous years.
Keeping your distance and wearing masks if the distances cannot be kept are especially important during the times when windows and doors cannot be left open all the time. Please disinfect your hands before entering common areas.
Groups eat together in separated areas. This is also the case with long-term volunteers who are considered ‘family’. Please respect this and as a guests do not sit at their table.
When allocating rooms, we take care that the paths of different groups do not cross if possible. The limited number of persons in the sanitary areas is signposted. We kindly ask you to pay attention to this.
We ask for your understanding that currently members who stay for a longer period of time have priority over short-term visitors in order to minimise the risk of infection and, in case, to make the chain of infection more traceable.
The minimum duration of a single retreat is one week (excluding arrival and departure days). Here, too, longer stays are given priority.

A Corona test is desirable and may at times be a condition for entry into Italy. There are no facilities for tests at border crossings. Time and again, the borders between the Italian provinces are also closed. In these cases, entry via Brig-Domodossola might still be possible.

Generally for every stay in Bordo the following applies:

  • Please check by yourself the conditions of entry and exit for your country and for Italy. Each country has its own regulations, which can change very quickly.
  • Be aware that if the situation changes unexpectedly, your stay will not be possible at the desired time.

  • If your body temperature exceeds 37.5°C or if flu symptoms occur, entry into Italy is not possible. If this is the case during your stay you have to immediately inform us directly. The team will support you well in case of a possible self-isolation.

  • In Bordo we follow the rules of distancing, wear a face mask where required, wash or disinfect hands frequently and take special care when sneezing or coughing. Please bring the required facemasks with you.

  • In our municipality of Borgomezzavalle only few cases of Covid-19 are known. It is very important to us that this does not change because of Bordo. Newcomers to the village are a special danger and so we ask you to take the necessary precautions.
